Bobby Park is 2011 UAAP MVP

National University star Ray-Ray Parks topped the individual statistical race and, in the process, clinched the Season 74 MVP award right on his first year in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament. Parks will receive the highly coveted during the Game 2 of the best-of-three finals on Sept. 27.

A former Melrose High School standout, Parks amassed 66.64 total statistical points spiked by a league-leading 20.0 points per game, 6.5 rebounds (7th best), 2.9 assists (tied at 9th), 1.1 steals (tied at 7th) and 1.1 blocks (10th best), enough to dislodge top rival Greg Slaughter of Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas reinforcement Karim Abdul.

Ateneo prized rookie Kiefer Ravena was adjudged this season’s top freshman with 56.36 SPs, good for sixth place in the MVP race. He convincingly beat out high school rival Kevin Ferrer of UST who only came up with 35.42 SPs.
